Shifting vehicle journeys to a different line

You can shift vehicle journeys and their line routes and time profiles to a different line. In the course of this, vehicle journey items are mapped to the new time profile items in the same way as vehicle journeys.

1.  Mark the vehicle journeys that you want to shift (Marking vehicle journeys).

2.  With the right mouse button, click the column header of a marked vehicle journey.

The shortcut menu opens.

3.  Select the Shift vehicle journey to a different line entry.

The Shift vehicle journey to a different line window opens.

4.  Make the desired changes.

If this option is selected, the list only shows lines with a transport system that corresponds to one of the marked vehicle journeys.

After shifting, delete empty time profiles and line routes

If the option has been selected, empty time profiles and line routes of the marked vehicle journeys will be deleted after shifting.

5.  Confirm with OK.

The vehicle journeys and their line routes and time profiles are shifted to the desired line.

Notes:

  • For each vehicle journey, Visum checks if the target line contains line routes which are compatible with the line routes of the shifted vehicle journey. If compatible line routes are found, they are listed in a help window. You can use the option Aggregate line route with... and the respective selection of the line route to aggregate line routes. Use the Create new line route option to add a new line route.
  • If necessary, stop points, links and turns of the vehicle journeys will be opened for the transport system of the target line. Allocations to stops of the stop sequence existing in the line routes are also copied. If couplings exist between vehicle journeys, for each vehicle journey item at which a coupling starts, Visum searches for a congruent vehicle journey item on the new course. If a congruent item exists, the coupling will be restored starting at this item. If no item exists, Visum displays an error message. Then you either have to separate the vehicle journey (Separating vehicle journeys or shortening the coupled section) or adjust the target time profile (Adjusting time profiles).
  • Passenger trip chains and forced chainings are retained.
