Creating information signs

You can create one or more information signs as follows.

1.  Right-click in the 3-D network view.

A shortcut menu opens.

2.  Select entry Information signs > Create information sign.

The Create information signs window opens.

3.  Make the desired changes.

Description

Name

Name of information sign

Network object type

Select network object type whose objects shall be labeled with information signs.

Reference objects

Select objects that shall receive information signs

The icon opens a separate window in which you select the objects that shall receive information signs.

Tip

You can also mark several objects in the 3-D network view in advance and then create information signs for these objects via the shortcut menu. They are then preselected as reference objects.

Contents

Selection of the contents shown on the information signs

You can select the items to be shown on the information signs with a click in this section. In the 3-D network view, the various items of the information signs are arranged like in the Contents section. The inserted items can be edited when double-clicked.

The following contents can be added:

Text

Here you can enter a text of your choice.

Attribute value

Opens the window to select an attribute of the selected network object type. Here you select an attribute whose value you would like to display on the information sign.

Attribute title

Opens the window to select an attribute of the selected network object type. The name of the selected attribute will be displayed on the information sign.

Attribute title and value

Opens the window to select an attribute of the selected network object type. Attribute name and value are displayed next to each other in one row.

Text and attribute value

Opens the window to select an attribute of the selected network object type. Select an attribute whose value you want to display on the information sign and enter a text of your choice, which will be displayed next to this value.

Notes

The lower section contains a Preview of the information sign according to the current settings.

Use the icon to remove currently selected items.

Properties

Here you can edit values like the Orientation of the item currently selected on the left.

For some contents, Units can also be displayed or the Number of decimal places can be defined.

Maximum width

Maximum width of the information signs in meters

Relative rotation

Angular offset in degrees relative to direction of rotation

Orientation

Select the orientation of the information signs:

  • Fixed orientation:: the information signs are fixed and do not rotate when changing the position.
  • Rotate to camera: the information signs always rotate towards the camera position at a constant tilt.
  • Rotate and tilt to camera: the information signs always rotate and tilt towards the camera position.

Distance in height

Height distance to reference object in meters

Font

Select the font for the information signs.

You can also adjust the size and the color of the font and format the text bold or italic.

Note

The font size determines the size of the information sign.

Background color

Click the field to select the color of the background in a separate window.

Frame color

Click the field to select the color of the frame in a separate window.

Frame width

Enter the frame width in m

Preview

Display of the information sign according to your current settings

4.  Confirm with OK.

The information signs are displayed according to the current settings.

Note: For each storyboard, you can specify the information signs to be displayed when playing the storyboard (Editing a storyboard).
