Displaying 3D bars

In the spatial network view, you can display three-dimensional bars for links, connectors and main turns. The bar height is based on an attribute value and a scaling factor.

1.  From the 3-D network view menu, choose Edit graphic parameters.

The Edit graphic parameters window opens.

2.  In the navigator, select Display type.

3.  Then click the display type Link bars.

4.  In the navigator, select Link bars.

5.  Make the desired changes.

Element

Description

Draw bars on links/ main turns/ connectors with attribute

Here you select the desired link / main turn / connector attribute that you want to display as a bar.

Note

The selected attributes of the various objects should be matched to each other.

Draw bars on active links, main turns, and connectors only

If the option is selected, bars are not drawn on passive objects.

Also draw bars on closed links, main turns, and connectors

If the option is selected, bars are also drawn on closed objects.

Display of negative values

Specify display of negative values

With negative height

Objects with a negative attribute value receive a negative height

With positive height

Objects with a positive attribute value receive a positive height

Use cross-section values

If the option is selected, the values are determined based on the two directions of the object.

If the option is not been selected, the values are determined separately for each direction. In this case, depending on the view, perhaps only the bar of the higher direction is visible.

Show reverse sides

If the option has been selected, bars can be seen from both directions. You can, for example, improve the display of different link volumes for each direction because the bar of the direction with the lower volume contrasts with the reverse side of the bar with the higher volume.

Reverse side style

Click the field to specify the display of the reverse sides in a separate window. Here you can make the desired changes, just like on the Display page.

Scaling

Scaling of the objects is based on the following values:

Maximum bar height

Specifies the maximum height of the bars

Manual scaling

If this option has been checked, you can define the value range by bar: Enter the absolute values for the bar display.

Automatic scaling

If the option has been selected, the value range goes from 0 to the calculated Network maximum that has been determined from the attribute values and which is multiplied by a user-defined factor between 0.0 and 1.0.

6.  If required, make additional settings on the Display page of the respective network object.

Element

Description

Uniform display

If the option is selected, all bars are displayed uniformly.

Color

Choice of bar color

Gloss

Enter a coefficient that specifies the degree of light reflection

Texture file

Click the symbol to select a graphics file with a texture for the bar.

Horizontal length of the texture

Scale factor for the length of the texture

Classified display

If this option is selected, you can classify the display using attribute values (Displaying classified objects based on attribute values).

Height bands

If this option is selected, height bands are output. On the Height bands page, you can make settings for multicolor display.

7.  If required, on the Height bands page, you can make a classification for the height bands (Displaying classified objects based on attribute values).

Note: The Height bands page displays the network objects for which the option Height bands was selected on the Display page.
