Defining the empirical distribution

You can define distributions and enter a lower and an upper bound for them. Between the lower limit and the upper bound, in the curve, you can insert intermediate points, drag them with the mouse to the desired value and thus define the curve of the distribution.

1.  Select the desired distribution from the menu Base Data > Distributions.

The Distributions list opens.

2.  In the list, on the toolbar, click the Add button .

A new row with default data is inserted.

The Distribution window opens.

3.  To empirically define a Time, Occupancy or Free distribution, in the Type box, select > Empirical. Otherwise, the distribution is defined as normally distributed (Defining a normal distribution).

4.  Click the start point or end point of the curve whose value you want to change, hold down the mouse button and drag the point to the desired value.

5.  Right-click in the line.

6.  From the shortcut menu, choose Add new point.

A node is entered.

7.  Click the intermediate point and keep the mouse button pressed.

8.  With the mouse button pressed, drag the intermediate point to the desired position.

9.  Release the mouse button.

10.  Confirm with OK.

The distribution is displayed in the Distributions list.
