First steps, quick starts and videos

Read the First Steps tutorial to start working with Vissim. Quick starts contain the most important steps of complex functions. The Vissim videos on PTV GROUP‘s Youtube Traffic channel illustrate different use cases (Youtube Traffic Channel of PTV GROUP).

Begin with the tutorial First steps.

First steps allows you to familiarize yourself with Vissim and gain hands-on experience using the program. By default, the tutorial is saved under C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\PTV Vision\PTV Vissim 2021\Tutorial First Steps.

Extensive example data are provided in the directories Examples Demo and Examples Training (Using files with examples).

The Quick starts topic shows you the most steps you need to consider when using complex Vissim functions:

Example files for videos

For individual videos, files with examples are saved by default under C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\PTV Vision\PTV Vissim 2021\Tutorials & Guides\Tutorial Videos - Vissim Files\. Open the *.inpx file of one of the examples, to follow and try out the features shown in the video in Vissim.
