Running the import process with a predefined configuration

1.  In the File menu, select the Import > OpenStreetMap entry.

The OpenStreetMap Importer window opens.

2.  Make the desired changes.

Select the OSM files via the icon. You can select multiple files.

Configuration

In the list box, click the configuration of your choice.

Notes

The names of the configuration sets are derived from the folder names. You can choose from the provided configuration sets, which cannot be modified, and user-defined sets.

Description

Display of the text of the readme file, which is saved in the selected configuration set.

Note

If, under Workflow config, Parameters and Base network, you replace a configuration set of the drop-down list with other files, the contents of the field will be deleted.

Retain temporary *.net file

 If this option has been selected, in the input field, you can enter the path and name of the network file in which you want to save the imported data, or click the symbol to choose the path.

Note

The initially saved network file does not contain any walk times t PuTSys(PUTW) for links. These are calculated by the importer, after the file is automatically opened in Visum for the first time. When you later open the initially saved network file in Visum, please note that this network file does not contain any walk times for links.

If this check box is not selected, during the import process the files are written into a temporary network file which is opened in Visum. Afterwards, the file is deleted.

Select map section

The displayed network in the network editor is selected as the map section for the import. You can set the longitude and latitude (WGS 84) coordinates manually and, if necessary, reset them to the original value using the Reset button.

Import OSM elements that are completely outside the bounding box

Select this option to import elements that lie entirely within the selected section.

Import OSM elements that are completely or partially outside the bounding box

If this option is selected, all elements that are at least partially in the map section are imported.

Map section

You can specify the map section into which OSM elements are to be imported.

Import all

If the option is selected, all elements of the selected OSM files are imported.

Current network section

If this option is selected, the currently visible network in the Network editor window is used as the basis for the import.

Current print area

If the option is selected, the currently defined print area is used as the basis for the import (Specifying the print area).

User-defined (longitude and latitude)

If this option is selected, you can set the longitude and latitude (WGS 84) coordinates manually.

Handling of clipped objects

Only import elements that are completely within the map section

Select this option to import elements that lie entirely within the selected section.

Import elements that are completely or partially within the map section

If this option is selected, all elements that are at least partially in the map section are imported.

3.  Confirm with OK.

The data is imported and a temporary network file is generated, which is displayed in Visum.
