How to install and start Visum
Visum is supplied with demo files, sample files, and documentation. You can find a detailed installation guide under ...\Program files\PTV Vision\PTV Visum 2025\Doc\Eng\Installation_PTV Visum 2025.pdf.
After you have installed Visum, several icons are available in the Visum program group (Start > Programs > PTV Visum 2025 > PTV Visum 2025):

Starts the server for distributed computations on multiple computers for the Visum Engine license variant Notes The Visum Engine can be installed in addition to Visum. It serves as compute node without the Visum user interface. You can select it as compute node during distributed calculations and manage it via the calculation server. |

For license management independent of Visum, you can install the stand-alone PTV License Manager program. The installation file can be downloaded here: PTV Vision Setups. After installation, you can open the program via the Windows Start menu. It is located outside the program group PTV Vision.
Note: With one Visum license, you can start five Visum instances in parallel on your computer. |
