Generating a regular service

By specifying a time range using a special function, you can generate a regular service for all (active) or selected time profiles.

The special function Generating regular service based on headways can be accessed in various locations.

In the following locations, the function applies to all, optionally to all active time profiles:

  • Network window in the shortcut menu at each entry for Lines/Line routes
  • Edit menu > Network objects (PuT) > Time profiles
  • Network editor window in Edit mode in the shortcut menu for all selected lines/line routes

In the following locations, the function affects all selected time profiles, regardless of their active status:

  • Timetable lines window in the shortcut menu at each entry in the navigator of the lines/line routes
  • Network editor window in the shortcut menu on all selected time profiles
  • List (time profiles) in the shortcut menu of selected rows

1.  Right-click the selected lines in one of the above windows.

2.  From the shortcut menu, choose Generate regular service based on headways.

The Generate regular service based on headways window opens.

3.  Make the desired changes.

Element

Description

Edit active time profiles only

If the option has been selected, only active time profiles will be taken into account.

The option is only visible if not all time profiles are active.

Delete existing vehicle journeys

If this option is selected, existing vehicle journeys in the active time profile are deleted.

If the option is not selected, the new vehicle journeys are added to the existing ones.

Use headway attribute

If the option is selected, the regular service is generated on the basis of the time interval sets for headways and the values of the headway attribute (Properties and options of time interval sets)

If the option is not selected, you must specify time intervals and headways manually. It is possible to use up to three alternating headways per time slice. After the last headway entered, the sequence restarts with the first headway. You may not enter an end time that is after 24:00:00.

Use this option to specify partial headways in "whole minutes".

Example: You can define 8 vehicle journeys per hour by specifying only one headway1 = "7:30". In this case, however, the departure time for every second vehicle journey is xx:xx:30. Alternatively, you can specify a headway1 = "7:00" and headway2 = "8:00". Then the vehicle journeys start at 8:00, 8:07, 8:15, 8:22, 8:30.

All vehicle journeys cover the complete time profile, are not coupled or passenger trips chains, and have a vehicle journey section with the vehicle combination of the time profile.

Start time of the first vehicle journey per time interval and time profile

Start time of the time interval

If the option is selected, the first generated vehicle journey begins at the start time of the interval.

In the middle of the time interval

If this option is selected, the first vehicle journey is shifted by a calculated offset so that the vehicle journeys are centered in the time interval.
