Importing MapFan DB data

If you want to import a MapFan DB dataset, proceed as follows:

1.  Start Visum with an empty user interface (Starting with an empty program interface)

2.  Then show a dynamic background map (Dynamically embedding background maps provided on the Internet ).

3.  Zoom into the map, so that the map section for which you want to import MapFan DB data is visible.

4.  From the File menu, choose the Import > MapFan DB entry.

The MapFan DB import window opens.

5.  Make the desired changes.

Note

The rail network data is optional.

The input data is available in the following projection

Here you can specify a projection file *.prj.. The selected file will then be opened, but the path to the file will not be saved.

If you do not specify a projection file, the projection will be set to the default projection of Visum (Sphere_Mercator / GCS_Sphere).

All coordinates at imported network objects are interpreted in the set projection.

Only import objects within the network section

If the option is selected, objects will be imported only within the specified network section. You define this section via the input fields or the button above.

Note

If you do not specify a network section, very large amounts of data may be loaded, resulting in long loading times.

Use the coordinates of the network section

Clicking the button inserts the coordinates of the visible network section into the fields below, which define the network section for import.

Note

If you have previously defined a network section in step 3, this will be adopted and data will be imported into it.

Save parameters /

Open parameters

Using the buttons you can save your settings in an *.xml file or open saved settings.

Reset The button allows you to delete all entries in the window.

6.  Confirm with OK.

The data is imported. Links are displayed by category in preset colors. POIs for link sections and station areas are also displayed differently.
