Splitting territories geometrically

You can split territories based on a geometric separator line. To do this, select one or more territories and divide them.

1.  Select one or more territories in the network editor.

2.  Right-click in the network display.

3.  Select the entry Split geometrically.

4.  Insert the separator line at the desired position in the network.

Notes: You can insert intermediate points at desired positions. You can snap existing nodes, link intermediate points, or vertices of surfaces if you move the mouse near them.

If you hold down the Ctrl key at the same time, the line between two snapped points is automatically completed. For surface vertices, the separator line follows the contour of the surface; for nodes and link intermediate points, it follows the shortest path between these points, if any.

5.  Finish the process with a right click.

6.  From the shortcut menu, choose Complete split.

Tip: Alternatively, double-click to complete the process.

The territories are split. New territories are created for the new faces, replacing the old territories.
