In Visum, road traffic air emissions can be determined on the basis of the calculation procedure Pollution-Emis (based on emission factors of the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment).
The calculation of the pollution emission values is carried out internally by the program on the basis of direction; volume values for both directions are later added. The result is displayed as a cross-section volume.
The emissions are calculated for every car and every truck (HGV), with every value multiplied by the number of vehicles (link volume for HGVs or cars). These partial sums are then totaled.
