Exporting a screenshot or raster graphic from screen

You can save a screenshot of the current window (without the frame) as a graphic file with the extension *.jpg, *.bmp, *.gif, *.tiff, *.png, *.emf or *.wmf.

You also have the option of exporting a reproducible raster graphic of the network window or the set print area, for example for differently set graphic parameters or if you want to create graphics with high resolution and exactly the same image section.

Exporting a screenshot of the current screen section

You can create a simple screenshot as follows.

1.  On the toolbar of the Network editor window, click the  Screenshot symbol.

The Save screenshot window opens.

Tip: Alternatively, from the File menu, choose Export graphics (<name of selected view>) > Screenshot.

2.  Enter the file name and the path, if required.

3.  From the File type drop-down list, choose the desired type of file.

4.  Click the Save button.

The Save screenshot window opens.

5.  From the file type drop-down list, select the desired type of file.

Notes: The default dpi value is the specified resolution or a multiple of the user's screen.

If you save a *.jpg file, you can also specify the desired quality of the exported graphics.

Visum memorizes the graphic parameters and layout settings for the duration of the session.

6.  Confirm with OK.

The current screen display is saved as graphics file.

Tip: You can also export the following views as a screenshot:

  • Timetable (graphical)
  • Signal time-space diagram
  • Transfers display of regular services
  • Schematic line diagrams
  • 3-D network view
  • Print area

You can open the graphics file for further editing in an external graphics program or open it in Visum as a background (Inserting background images of map services provided on the Internet).
