RailML® interface

Note: This function is available if you have activated the add-ons RailML import and RailML export ( Enabling or disabling add-ons).

The railML®import interface enables users to import timetable data sets in railML® format in Visum. This procedure corresponds to the additional reading of a network (Reading network data additively), i.e. data is read into an existing network. You can also export Visum to railML® ( Exporting Visum data to railML®).

RailML® is a data format which has been agreed between different parties involved as joint universal data format. It is available in form of an XML scheme containing descriptions with regard to contents. Details can be found under http://www.railml.org. In Visum this format can be imported. For the import please specify the file to be read as well as further import parameters. You can save the settings to a railML® project *.puti and use them again later (Saving settings for railML® import and Reading in settings for railML® import).

The import focuses on timetable data and reads other schemes only if they are necessary for the import of the timetable data (Notes on imported railML® data). Thus, objects of the line hierarchy can be created in Visum.
