Placing and allocating accidents

By default, imported accidents are automatically placed at their coordinates in the network and allocated to the closest node or link. If this node or the link is located within a main node, they are assigned to the main node. The automatic allocation does not work if the links or nodes are too far away from the accident site. This is the case if the accident occurred in a parking lot, for example, or in a very large area. You can use the filter to find those accidents which have not yet been allocated and allocate them automatically (Multi-allocating accidents automatically). Accidents which could not automatically be allocated because they do not satisfy the criteria, can manually be placed and allocated one by one.

1.  Filter by accidents which have not yet been allocated (Filtering accidents).

2.  If desired, have these accidents automatically allocated (Multi-allocating accidents automatically).

3.  If you do not want to allocate them automatically or if not all accidents can automatically be allocated, proceed as follows: In the Safety section, right-click the Accidents button.

4.  From the shortcut menu, choose Place and allocate.

The toolbar Place and allocate accidents appears. The first non-allocated accident is highlighted by a red circle.

5.  To shift this accident, drag it to the new position.

6.  On the Place and allocate accidents toolbar, click the button of your choice.
