In license management, you control the availability of product licenses and thus the use of product versions and add-ons:
- Manage license server (Using licenses on a license server).
- Show available licenses in a list
- Set the license you want to use at product startup (Setting licenses for use), (Finding new licenses and removing licenses from the list that are not (no longer) available)
- Activate, update, deactivate, search, and remove licenses from the list (Activate a license on your computer), (Updating licenses on your computer), (Deactivating a license on your own computer)
- Use licenses from a license server (Using licenses on a license server)
- Use cloud-based licenses (Using cloud-based licenses)
- Use PTV Hub license (Use PTV Hub license)
- Borrow licenses (Borrowing a license), (Returning a borrowed license)
Access options for license management
You have the following options to open the license management:
- from within the installed product (Opening the license management in the product)
- in the stand-alone PTV License Manager (Managing licenses with the PTV License Manager) tool. This helps you as an administrator to centrally configure the license selection. You can download, install, and use the PTV License Manager without installing a PTV Vision product (PTV Vision website setups:
Vision Setups). You can call up the PTV License Manager from the Windows Start menu.

Note: The PTV License Manager tool is a standalone application with its own release cycle, independent of the PTV Vision Suite products it is associated with. Therefore, please ensure that you are using the latest version of the tool. In current versions, you will be notified when there is a newer version. |
- Licenses for versions older than 2021 need to be managed either through the Web Depot or the PTV License Manager, depending on the version's age (Managing licenses for product versions before 2021).
