If you use a PTV Vision product without a license, the product operates in demo mode and is subject to limitations.
With a license key, you can upgrade the demo version to a commercial version. A new installation is not necessary (Converting a demo version to a commercial version).
Limitations compared to the commercial version
- A demo version is always provided for the current program version, but older installed versions can also be used in demo mode.
- The Save and Print functions are not available.
- Values in lists cannot be copied.
- The COM interface is not available.
Product-specific limitations compared to the commercial version
- PTV Visum:
- The network size is limited to 3000 zones.
- The subnetwork generator is not available.
- PTV Vissim:
- Evaluations cannot be generated.
- Save as Default Network is not available.
- *.avi files cannot be saved.
- The simulation duration is limited to 1800 seconds.
- The test mode for checking signal control logics with manually set detector requests is not available.
- The driving simulator interface is not available.
- The emission calculation DLL interface is not available.
- BIM import is not available.
