Setting up backup copy

In your settings, you can select that Vissim periodically saves backup copies of your Vissim network file. If you want to save backup copies of different network files to a common directory, you can select this directory.

Vissim does not save the Vissimnetwork file itself when it saves backup copies of it.

Setting time interval for saving and directory for backup copies

1.  On the Edit menu, click > User Preferences > Files.

2.   In the left window section, select Backup copy.

3.  Make the desired changes:

Element Description

Automatic backup every xx minutes

If this option is selected, you can set the time interval at which Vissim will save your Vissimnetwork to the backup copies. Default value: 15 minutes, value range: 1 minute to 120 minutes.

Vissim then regularly saves and overwrites the following backup copies of the <name>.inpxnetwork file if you make any changes to the Vissimnetwork:

  • <Name>.inpx.inps
  • <Name>.layx.lays

Save manually on a regular basis if you do not select this option and you are editing the Vissimnetwork.

Common folder for backup copy

If this option is selected, you can choose a directory/folder where Vissim will store the backup copies of different Vissimnetwork files. The directory you chose is selected by default the next time you open Vissim .

If this option is not selected, Vissim saves the backup copy to the working directory of the network file.
