Saving network file (inpx) in newer version without prompting

The *.inpx file format is subject to updates. If you want to open and store a *.inpx network file of a previous version Vissim in the current Vissim version, the Replace existing file in current file format? opens by default. In the window, you can select the following options:

  • Replace file: Vissim saves the network file in the *.inpx file format of the currently opened Vissim version. This *.inpx network file can no longer be opened in previous versions.
  • Always replace: In the future, network files will be saved in the *.inpx file format of the currently opened Vissim version without prompting. You can reactivate "Prompting” in the user preferences:

1.  On the Edit menu, click > User Preferences.

2.   In the left window section, select Files > General.

3.  Make the desired changes:

 If this option is selected, Vissim will save *.inpx network files from previous versions in the *.inpx file format of the currently opened Vissim version. Vissim no longer displays the Replace existing file in current file format? window.

 If this option is not selected, Vissim displays the Replace existing file in current file format? window.
