Properties of the Vissim versions

From version 11, Vissim is available as a 64-bit edition only. The Vissim version name, version number, and service pack number are displayed in the title bar and in the About PTV Vissim window (Showing program and license information).

Demo version

• The version can be used for an unlimited period of time, for example to allow others to view simulation data without having a license to use a full version (Providing simulation data for demo version).
• You cannot copy data in lists.
• The Network Editor is fully functional.
• Evaluation cannot be generated.
• The Save, Save as default network, and Print commands are not available.
• The COM interface cannot be used.
• Video files cannot be saved.
• Users do not receive technical support.

• Simulation runs are possible only for the first 1,800 s. This period cannot be extended in order to show longer simulation runs. Vissim does not assign any evaluation attributes and does not generate any direct evaluations.
• If it is necessary to show the visualization of vehicles and/or pedestrians beyond the first 1,800 s, animation files *.ani can be used. For animation files there is no time limit.
• If a signal control DLL from another provider is required for the execution of the simulation run, which is originally located in the Exe directory of the installed full version, this file must be included with other files required for its execution in the ..\AdditionalFiles\Exe subfolder in the Vissim Setups directory (if applicable). From there, the signal control DLL is then copied to the demo version's Exe\ directory during installation.
• All files that users of the demo version should use must additionally be copied manually, for example:
• Network file *.inpx
• Layout file *.layx
• Supply files of the signal control
• Animation file *.ani
• Subfolder *.results containing evaluation data

Student version

• Evaluation can be generated.
• The Vissim network can be saved.

Thesis license

The network size depends on the license type used.

Classroom license

The Classroom license is only available in the USA. Functionality and restrictions depend on the license type used.

Academic license
