Each license is valid for a specific product variant, e.g. "PTV Visum Expert". It has the following other properties:
- Usage type: single-user or floating network license
- For floating network licenses: number of seats
- Time limit, where applicable
- Included add-on modules
- Maximum network size
The license also contains the responsible sales region, the customer name, and an expiration date.
Versions
With a license, you acquire the right to use a specific main version (e.g. "PTV Vissim 2023") and all future service packs for this version. Likewise, you can use older releases as long as they are still technologically compatible.
With a maintenance contract, you also have the right to use all main versions released during the maintenance period. This right includes all subsequent service packs for these main versions.
