Importing shape files
You can import shape files *.shp and select whether their vectorial geometry data is imported as areas or obstacles. You can also select whether attribute data (dBASE format) is imported from a *.dbf file. The *.shx file must be saved with the *.shp and *.dbf files. It contains the index of the geometry for linking attribute data.
1. From the File menu, choose > Import > Shape file:.
The Shape file import window opens.
2. Make the desired changes:

Integer that is added to the number of network objects you want to import. Default value 0. You can overwrite this value. |

Read attributes from database file (dbf) as BDA |
This option can be selected if a *.dbf is saved with the *.shp file. If this option is selected, Vissim will read attribute data of objects in the *.shp file from the *.dbf file. |
3. Click Import.
Network objects are created in the Network editor.
The attribute lists of the network objects contain the imported attribute data.
