Using named Network editor layouts
You define the layout of a Network editor with various graphic parameters and settings for visibility and selectability. You can save the selection and settings for the layout in a named Network editor layout (Defining the Network editor layout). This also allows you to define multiple Network editor layouts that meet different requirements for displaying the Vissim network in the Network editor. You can select a named Network editor layout again later, assign it to a Network editor and thus define its layout.
When you save the entire Vissim user interface layout, the named Network editor layouts are also saved (Saving Network editor layouts with entire layout), (Saving the user interface layout). Settings from the following areas are saved for each named Network editor layout:
- Base graphic parameters (Editing base graphic parameters for a network editor)
- 3D graphic parameters (Editing 3D graphic parameters)
- Graphic parameters of the network objects (Editing graphic parameters for network objects)
- Visibility and selectability settings selected in the following sidebars:
- Network object sidebar
- Level toolbar
- Background image toolbar
- 3D information sign toolbar
If you rename a network editor layout in a scenario in a scenario management project, Vissim renames this network editor layout in the other scenarios as well as in the base network of the scenario management project. If you reference the network editor layout in a storyboard in the scenario, Vissim assigns this new name to the network editor layout. However, Vissim does not rename the network editor layout in storyboards from other scenarios or in the base network of the scenario management project.
