Allowing the collection of usage data

As your PTV Vision team, we want Vissim to provide the functions you actually need and that make work easier for you. To support us in this objective, activate the Collect usage data option. We can then examine which parts of the program you prefer and how often you use individual functions, e.g. via the number of clicks on menu items, the size of networks, the time the Network editor is used or the duration of simulation runs. All data collected and sent to our servers is fully anonymized. The data cannot be traced back to you or your workplace.

1.  Read our  Information on usage data (PTV GROUP website) as well as  Information on Terms & Privacy (PTV GROUP website).

2.  On the Edit menu, click > User Preferences.

3.   In the navigation tree, choose Usage data.

4.  Make the desired changes:

Element	Description
Collect usage data	If the option is selected, diagnostic and usage data is collected and transmitted anonymously.
Log usage data locally	Only available if the option Collect usage data has been selected. Opens the Telemetrydata_<yyyymmdd>_<hhmmss>.log file in the editor that is installed as default on your computer. This file has been saved to the %temp%\VISSIM directory. Files from the previous day are deleted when starting Vissim.
