Provisioning of .weg and .bew files
After the correction of the network/supply side, is necessary to set the transfer of the demand (see → Offline preparation ).
The demand is transferred from PTV Visum/PTV Optima by means of the assignment result of the respective typical days, provided through a .rim file (Route IMport).
This file contains three tables:
Table | Description |
---|---|
TIMEINTERVAL |
Describing the time intervals of the results. |
ROUTE |
Listing the routes and their respective volumes for each TIMEINTERVAL. |
ROUTEITEM |
Describing the routes (as node sequence) found by the dynamic assignment. |
The offline preparation procedure consists of these main steps:
-
The data of the .rim file is used to:
- Project the routes onto the PTV Vissim subnetworks.
- Merge routes and their volumes that have identical node sequences within a subnetwork.
- Convert the data to .weg files for PTV Vissim (with extension .projected.merged.matched.vissim.weg )
- Import the .projected.merged.matched.vissim.weg files in PTV Vissim.
- Run multiple 24 hour simulations in order to produce .bew files for PTV Vissim.
- Merging multiple different random seed .bew files into a .mean.bew file describing the typical day costs for PTV Vissim.
- Repeat these steps for all day types and all subnetworks.
