Optima Micro: monitoring log files
PTV Optima Micro is designed as a distributed system.
Every Optima Micro Worker server:
- Contributes to processing a micro-simulation request.
- Produces local log files.
- Forwards the log files to Optima Micro Message Broker.
PTV Optima Micro provides a log monitor that can collect all distributed log messages and dump them into a single log.
The monitor can be installed:
- Directly on one Optima Micro Worker server (innately connected to the Broker).
- On any other Windows machine that can be connected to the Broker.
The monitor is not designed for 24/7 operation, but only to help log analysis and troubleshooting activities.

- If necessary, install Microsoft ASP.NET Core Runtime 8.0.
- From PTV-Optima-XX.Y.ZZZZZ.zip, extract Micro-Monitor-XX.Y.ZZZZZ.zip.
- Uncompress Micro-Monitor-XX.Y.ZZZZZ.zip in a convenient place, generally named as $MICROMONITOR.
- Copy $MICROMONITOR\config-templates\ptv-optima-micromonitorSettings.xml to $MICROMONITOR\settings.xml.
-
According to your needs, set the configuration parameters contained in $MICROMONITOR\settings.xml.
Tip: The configuration of the log monitor requires you to set the parameters indicated in → Optima Micro configuration > ptv-optima-micro-monitorSettings.xml

- Run $MICROMONITOR\ptv-optima-micro-monitor.exe.
- Keep ptv-optima-micro-monitor.exe running for as long as required (for example, to perform some tests or specific requests ).
-
Stop $MICROMONITOR\ptv-optima-micro-monitor.exe.
You can collect the log files stored in the position specified in $MICROMONITOR\settings.xml
