Borrowing a license

Note: You must ensure that you have licenses in your regional subscription and that you have been added as an internal user of PTV Hub. For more information, see the help section PTV Hub under Licenses.

If you are not a PTV Hub user, start with step 4.

Then log into your PTV user account:

1.  Click the icon in the upper-right corner of the program window of your desktop product.

The default browser opens and you are redirected to the PTV user account login page.

2.  Enter your login details and click on Sign In.

3.  Return back to the desktop program.

4.  Open the License Management window from within the product (Opening the license management in the product).

5.  Click the  Update selected license symbol. Then click on the symbol Find licenses to see which licenses are available. You can also select the option Search for licenses in Subscription. You must have installed the current service pack for the product version 2023, 2024 or 2025.

6.  Select the license you want to borrow.

Note: If you have several licenses available and you want to work with PTV Hub, it is important that you use the arrow to move a PTV Hub license to the first row of the table. This step ensures that you borrow the correct license from the list.

7.  Select the license you want to use and click the symbol. .

Note: If the license administrator has made the use of activation keys mandatory for borrowing, the Enter activation key window will open, where you must enter the activation key you received. Otherwise, the License borrowing options window opens directly.

Note: For academic licenses, the borrowing period is limited to a maximum of 180 days. However, it may be shorter in your case if the license administrator has set a shorter borrowing period for your activation key.
